Muna & Alex - Engagement photography session in St Kilda, Melbourne
We tried our hardest not to get blown off the pier. It was that windy. And dark.
That's how excited Muna and Alex were to capture some great images on the pier at dawn. These two really brought so much enthusiasm to the session. In between rugging up with a blanket, hats and gloves, this awesome couple braved the weather for some individual pre-dawn portraits.
Muna and Alex have been long-time childhood sweethearts. Muna recounted a great story about Alex's surprise proposal:
He told me I was getting my Christmas present before Christmas. I asked why and he said, "its an experience, can't be two weeks before or after it HAS to be the week before. And no questions!" I said, "righto, but I need to know the dress code as I don’t want to rock up to a 5 star restaurant in shorts and sandals nor do I want to be overdressed in a ball gown for skydiving!!"
His response: " buy yourself a new dress."
So I did, bought the dress, got all glammed up and the experience was dinner at Port Philip Estate in Red Hill! AHHHHHHHHHHH, I was so excited to be there as I have been wanting to go out there for ages! After the main meal, he said, "lets go outside on the deck and get some photos before the sun goes down". He had tee'd up the maitre d' of the restaurant who came out with us to capture the moment on my iPhone!! As I am looking for the perfect spot to capture the beautiful landscape and skyline, I turned around – lo and behold, there is Alex on bended knee with a lilac box sealed with a delicate ribbon bow, cupped in his hands with the biggest smile on his face...........after my shock, hysterical no-so-lady-like reaction, out came the words...................and here we are today!
Having captured some playful shots on the beach, we headed over to Luna Park to grab a few shots in front of the iconic big mouth before finishing up on Ackland Street for a well earned coffee and cake (if you haven't had cake here it's a must - the hardest part is deciding what exactly to eat!). These two had such a great connection - Just check out the interaction in these shots!
